Dralune Compendium is an independent editorial publication. It does not carry advertising, does not accept sponsored content, and does not receive payments from companies whose products or services relate to the subject matter it covers. The publication is funded by direct reader support and editorial licensing.

Topic Selection

Articles are commissioned based on three criteria: documented reader interest, coverage gaps in existing wellness and health writing, and the availability of published primary research that substantiates the editorial position. The publication prioritises topics where the gap between the peer-reviewed record and the popular account is largest, and where an accurate documentary account would serve readers who have been underserved by commercial wellness content.

Topics that fall primarily within the specialist domain — the assessment or management of sleep disorders, specific wellness conditions, or pharmacological interventions — are outside the editorial scope of the Compendium. Where such topics are adjacent to an article’s subject matter, the article notes their existence and directs readers to appropriate professional sources.

Sourcing Standards

Editorial claims about sleep science, chronobiology, or related fields are required to be traceable to published sources in peer-reviewed journals, official public health documentation, or documented observational studies. The preferred sources are primary research articles published in journals indexed by PubMed, the Cochrane Library, or equivalent repositories.

Secondary sources — review articles, meta-analyses, and synthesis documents — are used where they provide a more accurate summary of a field than individual studies. Where a review and a primary study are in tension, the article notes the disagreement rather than choosing one and suppressing the other.

Writers are required to disclose any commercial relationship with organisations whose products or findings are referenced in their articles. Disclosed conflicts of interest are noted in the article. Undisclosed conflicts of interest identified after publication result in the article being held for review.

The Two-Editor Review

Every article published on Dralune Compendium passes through a two-stage editorial review before publication. The first review is conducted by an editor who checks factual claims against cited sources, identifies statements that require stronger substantiation, and assesses whether the article’s characterisation of the research is accurate and proportionate.

The second review is conducted by the founding editor and addresses the overall editorial framing, the accuracy of the conclusions drawn, and the consistency of the article with the publication’s documented standards. Articles that do not pass both stages of review are returned to the writer with specific notes. Articles that cannot be brought to standard are not published.

The two-editor review process was introduced in 2024 following an internal assessment that identified instances where editorial framing had overreached the strength of the underlying evidence. The process has been in continuous use since that date.

Corrections Policy

Dralune Compendium publishes corrections to factual errors identified after publication. Corrections are appended to the relevant article in a clearly labelled section that records the original text, the corrected text, and the date of the correction. The correction note remains permanently associated with the article.

Corrections are distinguished from clarifications. A correction records an error of fact. A clarification records a passage that was accurate but ambiguous, and adds language to resolve the ambiguity. Both are noted publicly and dated.

Readers who identify potential errors in published articles are encouraged to write to the editorial team at [email protected]. Every submission is reviewed. We aim to acknowledge corrections submissions within three working days and to publish verified corrections within ten.

Independence and Commercial Relationships

The publication accepts no advertising revenue. It does not participate in affiliate marketing schemes. It does not receive payments from product manufacturers, supplement companies, or wellness brands in exchange for coverage, endorsement, or placement. It does not accept sponsored content in any form.

The editorial team may include links to external resources — published papers, public health documentation, or relevant non-commercial organisations — but these links are included on editorial grounds only. No payment is received for any outbound link placed within editorial content.

Scope and Limitations

The content published by Dralune Compendium is editorial in nature. It documents observed patterns, research findings, and household-level implications of published sleep and rest science. It is not professional or specialist advice and is not intended to serve as a substitute for guidance from a qualified healthcare professional.

Readers with concerns about their own sleep, health, or wellbeing — including persistent difficulty sleeping, excessive daytime sleepiness, or other signals — should consult a qualified healthcare professional. The publication’s editorial content is not designed to address individual health circumstances.
